Uncovered Metal Bass Pans

I have a Ferret Nation with the Metal Bass Pans. I see that lots of people line them with fleece but I just leave mine bare. I have a potty bowl filled with Carefresh (my girls don't eat it) that I keep under the water bottle and for the most part they pee in it, but my one girl Annie likes to stick her butt out of her tube and pee. Having the bare metal pans makes it really simple to clean. I empty their potty bowl and wipe down the pans everyday. Of course they poop everywhere.

I have lots of shelves, tubes and hidey houses in the cage so its not like they are just on bare metal all the time.

I was just curious if anyone else just left their pans bare? I think if I used fleece they would get stinky in just a day and that would be alot of maintenance.
