Ive always used poplar wood for my chins ledges. The stores here have them in the 'specialty woods' section; which basically means less size options and higher price. Are the Pine, Maple, Aspen woods in the same section suitable/safe for making ledges with as well? I no in general those woods are, but im always hesitant to try new woods with chins unless im sure.
