My chinchilla girl recently gave birth to a kit, but seems to have gotten over enthusiastic when cleaning it off, as the kit now has a large area on its head of matted fur and I believe scabbing. The kit is running around and acting fine, but I'm worried about there maybe being moisture trapped under there or the site possibly getting infected. Below is the best picture I could get of the wound.
