Hey All,
My Chinchilla is 13, a male, and started with a sealed shut eye back in the very beginning of Feb. (now march first).
I took him to the vet right away in the beginning of Feb, got prescribed eye gel (terramycin). After a week he was worse so the vet also gave me some oral meds (pink, TriMeth Sulfa Sol Liquid - he loves it btw). He got all better, I ran out of both meds so I thought it was over. 5 days later I go to feed him and notice a LOT of white pus having from his left eye (the original bad eye) and now his other eye was also stuck shut with white pus / booger looking crust. I ordered more terramycin online (overnighted because he is like my child!) and have started to use it for a day now. There is no more pus, but his left eye (orig bad eye) has a cloudy blue haze to it.
Why would the infection spread to his other eye? My vet the first visit noticed a scratch on his eye, she thinks it is all from that but now both eyes?
I am scared for my lil boy, it is sunday now so I will be calling the vet in the AM, anyone have any tips / help?!
