Meeko has now been with me almost 5 weeks. He's really settled, very very mischievious, loves playtime, gives kisses (already!!!!)....basically he's a very loved part of what is now a family (if you count meeko as our baby hahaha).
However, the little rascal is obsessed with urinating in or on his very wooden hide box. I clean it out every day and am going through a ton of straw. He will also pull straw out of his hay rack onto the floor and pee on it, or if any straw naturally falls out of the rack he will pee on it.
Any tips on getting him to NOT go in his hide box? I don't want to take it out of the cage because a) even though his safe place is on his shelf in the corner/in his big cardboard tube, I want him to have somewhere else he can hide or sleep if he needs to and b) he uses it quite frequently to bouce of and jump down onto the floor of his cage.
Thanks, Corrynne and Meeko :)
