I know chinchillas are creatures of habit and before, my male wasn't any different. He is about a year and for the most part, he normally would become active around 6pm in the evening. Sometimes it would take a bit longer like for him to become active - as late as 8pm. However, recently he just started waking up much later. Now he isn't showing signs of being active till close to 10pm and sometimes won't want to play until almost midnight.
I normally go to bed around 1am due to work so I feel like we're missing out on bonding and playtime since he wants to sleep most of the time; and I can't figure out why all of the sudden he would start becoming active so much later.
The only thing I can think of is that he is on the sun's schedule and is sleeping in more since the sun stays up later. Is there anything I should do to maybe convince him to wake up earlier so we can interact more together?
