So from what I've read, some people seem to think feeding alfalfa is fine, some think it may lead to too much calcium/stones. Most seem to agree that it's at least ok to feed it to chins under a year old- but I'm not certain exactly how much a young chin should get.
Dusty and Spike are 6 and 7 months old (we've had them for 2.5 months). We've been giving them alfalfa cubes here and there, but they don't seem to "take" to them. They chew on them sometimes, but the cubes aren't exactly disappearing. I've just bought a bag of loose Oxbow alfalfa, and was wondering how much I should give? Would putting a small handful in each of the two hay feeders, mixed in with their timothy hay, each day be alright? Thank you!
