I'm looking after my friend's chinchilla, Herbie who is an absolute delight. I have house rabbits and a hedgehog so I am used to looking after somewhat delicate creatures but I'm naturally a little nervous since Herbie isn't mine.
Essentially, the noise he is making sounds like a parrot from far away... He makes the sound three or four times after which it stops. I shoot into the room and he looks at me as though wondering what my problem is! I open up his enclosure and he stretches then hops over and gives me a sniff and all appears to be completely normal.
I had a look at the soundboard for chinchilla noises and it sounds fairly similar to the "Wake Up" call but I don't know what that means!!
I would appreciate any and all advice on the subject. Thank you so much!
