General Check up

Hi all. I usually keep a regular eye on Meeko for anything out of the ordinary and thought I'd come to you all for some advice. I have a wire cage and I worry about his feet but he seems to enjoy the wire. I cover sections of the cage in fleece so that they won't hurt him but he'll pull up the fleece and throw it on the floor of the cage. Should I be looking for a different way to secure them or should I just leave them how he likes? He doesn't seem to be in any foot pain!



Also, with hair rings - he REALLY hates being checked for them and is a regular groomer down there. Should I continue to put him through the monthly check up or should I wait until any strange behavior provokes a check? Just curious as to how you guys handle your babies!
